Welcoming Festival
Who: Everyone!
What: Let's welcome the new folk! Festival time!
Where: Summer Forest
When: June 1st, evening
Warnings: None!
It's pretty amazing what magic can put together on short notice. Where tranquil forest stood just hours ago, there's now the obvious signs of a party—and it's all for the people who just got here! Hopefully everyone's dried off by now so they won't catch any chills! Strung up among the trees are paper lanterns glowing lightly and illuminating the area. There's food from all sorts of places set up on tables among the trees, and games are scattered about, with citizens of other worlds manning them. There's also a bonfire in a clearing away from the trees, if you want to get away from all the hustle and bustle… but why wander away? Have fun and socialize, after all, Avalar is your new home!

[Vaan, though, suddenly stands - before shaking his head. That leader tone - Vaan does seem to be listening, a bit scared.]
You don't know of your goals? That's pretty... well, uh, that's pretty stupid.
no subject
[He's firm, unwavering. His words are true, after all. He didn't even realize he was physical again until he hit the water. And as worried as he is about home? He has faith in his friends to handle anything. It's a priority to figure out what's going on back home, but he can't do much of anything until he's used to being alive again.]

[Vaan pauses, to shake off the electricity - his body looking quite normal again.]
...Why are you not human?
no subject
The question catches him off guard. Not human? ...Well, maybe he doesn't count as human anymore. But still, how could you tell? He takes a moment to think over a few possible answers. A serene smile spreads across his face.]
I am human. [Or at least, he was.] I don't know what you saw, but I am. It's a long, complicated story.
no subject
[Don't relax yet, Vaan is still rather angry.]
no subject
Like I said, it's complicated. I'm not lying, though I guess it'd be more accurate to say I was human all my life. [Do you get subtlety? He'd really rather not fight. He'd like to stay injury-free for a bit, since this is the first he's even been physical in a long while.]
no subject
Yeah. That's what they all say.
[Though he's still sounding grumpy.]

no subject
[But Vaan stops, before looking Minato in the eyes.]
Does your world have crystals?
no subject
[He isn't hostile at all. He's hard to read because he's so calm. One eyebrow rises.]
I'm guessing you aren't talking about the rocks or the chemical structure?
no subject
[Vaan's face twitches, and then he grabs over his large glowy crystal.]
These things - the lifeblood of the planet.
no subject
[He gives the crystal a once-over. He can tell it's powerful. Interesting.] Its lifeblood...? Good thing you're keeping it safe, then. [At least, he assumes that's what you're doing.]
no subject
[i am so sorry minato
vaan will not believe in other worlds for a while]
Yeah - if the 15 all get shattered, the world will collapse, and everybody'll die. It's my job to protect them, as the Judgemaster.

Then you're doing good work. The life of even one person, and especially not a whole world or planet, should never be wasted or taken without regard. [It'll happen on its own when the time is right.]
