Welcoming Festival

What: Let's welcome the new folk! Festival time!

It's pretty amazing what magic can put together on short notice. Where tranquil forest stood just hours ago, there's now the obvious signs of a party—and it's all for the people who just got here! Hopefully everyone's dried off by now so they won't catch any chills! Strung up among the trees are paper lanterns glowing lightly and illuminating the area. There's food from all sorts of places set up on tables among the trees, and games are scattered about, with citizens of other worlds manning them. There's also a bonfire in a clearing away from the trees, if you want to get away from all the hustle and bustle… but why wander away? Have fun and socialize, after all, Avalar is your new home!

Seito... [She nods.] I'm Marie! It's nice to meet you... I just wish it could be under better circumstances.

Is there any explanation outside of what we've already been told yet?

[Well that was completely not helpful. Did the powers that be even consider that they had very important lives they were interrupting? Obviously not.]

[Seito tried not to let his annoyance show, bowing his head, trying to give the appearance of the shy boy out of his comfort zone, not sure what to do.]

I guess we'll just have to play the hands we're given... [She sighs a bit.] Mother won't be terribly happy, I'm sure, but it's not exactly like we could help what happened...

My uncle won't be either.

[A shame too; he could already picture the drunk, loser father trying to fumble his way through the television looking for him. It was a pretty pathetic mental image.]

Well... maybe we'll get this whole thing straightened out soon so we can go home! As nice as this place is, I'd really rather be back in Paris. We'll just have to remain optimistic, right?

I guess so.
