Year of the Dragon

What: Year of the Dragon festivities
Where: Artisans homeworld, of course!
When: August 20th-21st

It's that time once again! Fairies have brought dragon eggs into the realm, which means it's time to celebrate. Everyone, including the Outsiders, has been invited to join in on the festivities. There's a feast (hope you guys like meat), music (renaissance-style, if you can place it), and some entertainment off to the side (mostly plays, but they'll change it up every now and then) happening, so why not loosen up and have some fun?

Oh, and for those of you interested, some of the Artisans have set up shop around the area, selling small things like statuettes and potted tropiaries and other such things.

... so... [It takes him a while to find what he wants to say. Three years on a mountain kind of diminishes any semblance of social skills one might have.]

Festivals like these common or something? [After a moment or so, he turns in the direction Pikachu went off to, clicking his tongue to get its attention.] Hey, don't go off too far.

[The Pikachu gives a "Pika!" in confirmation before dashing off again. Red just sighs.]

I don't think so. This one is for a special year for this place, but that is all I can tell. [He hasn't been here all that long.]

So that Pikachu is yours?

I see. I just got here a few minutes ago and I was told to come here... [He shrugs, but then his expression brightens. Common ground!]

Yeah, he is. He's been my partner for over three years now.

That so?

[So this was a warrior, however strangely dressed he was. A shout "Vee eevee!" and "Pipichu!" signaled Eevee and Pichu's return from exploring a different shop with Dratini in tow.]

He's also probably my closest friend. [He looks over to see the three Pokemon come over and smiles warmly. Pikachu rushes back over to greet them excitedly.]

My name's Red.

[Pichu greeted her evolution enthusiastically, Dratini and Eevee's being friendly but not as full of energy. The Normal-Type pulled away from the group to run over to Enzan.]

It's a pleasure to meet you, Red. I'm Enzan, Lord of Aurora. Eevee, Pichu, and Dratini are my partners.

[palletspride]

[... a lord...? That makes Red raise his eyebrows but not much else.]

... my other friends are wandering around this place. [... A pause.] Aside from Snorlax, but then again, he's... not exactly given to wandering. [Red chuckles.] Charizard, Blastoise, Venusaur, and Lapras are the others I have with me here.

[Pikachu is much more interested in conversing with the Pichu and the Dratini. Where are they from, what sort of places have they seen--Pikachu's very curious!]

[While Pichu and Dratini told Pikachu about Ransei, Eevee hopped on up to his perch on Enzan's left shoulder.]

I've heard of Charizard, Snorlax, and Lapras but not the others. What kind of Pokemon are they?

[Pikachu listens intently, clearly very interested.]

Blastoise is a Water-type and the final form of Squirtle. Venusaur is a Grass and Poison-type and the final form of Bulbasaur... Ah, here, I can show you.

[With that, Red turns around, raising his fingers to his mouth and letting out a sharp whistle. Afterwards, Charizard, Blastoise, and Venusaur come over. Red smiles and pats each of them.] Here.

[Enzan walks on over to the three Kanto Pokemon, his attention more focused on Venusaur and Blastoise. This was his first time seeing Pokemon he has never seen before so it's something new and exciting yet still close to home.]

Wow.

[With Dratini and Pichu, the Dragon-Type tells Pikachu about how he had met Enzan and his first battle that was also the battle that earned them Pugilis Castle.]

... They've all been with me for a long time. [Red smiles fondly, patting the side of Charizard's neck, who leans into the touch. Blastoise leans his head down to get a better look at Enzan.

Pikachu's pretty clearly impressed! Large-scale battles like those almost never happen in Kanto!]

[Eevee gives a short greeting to Blastoise and Venusaur.]
