Two boys and their Pokémon
Who: Enzan (
warlord_of_aurora) and Red (
aftermtsilver)
What: oh hey I met you over a stone thingy majiggy once
Where: Glimmer
When: 12th October, 2013
Warnings: None.
Exploring was one of the priorities for Red since arriving in Avalar. It felt like an unusual activity to his body, if only because of how long it had been since he'd moved from anything but the same paths along the same snowy mountain. Not that it couldn't be adventurous at times when the weather would get unpredictable and the pokémon feistier, but everything had become largely familiar in those years. It wasn't unwelcome- maybe this would be a change that was needed for him, one that he was unaware of.
The days felt too short for how much there was to be seen- but that was fine, since they were going to be there for a while, it seemed. Red only learnt (somewhat embarrassingly) the access to more locations, and he was itching to see what to make of them. Still, he felt there was plenty more to explore about the places that he knew of. Making known of what there was free would be good, at least the trainer thought so; he lived off what existed already, so there was no need for now to be any different. Sunrise Spring had turned out to be good for all those fruit trees everywhere.
What interested him in a visit to Glimmer was the apparent sports fields there. Wide and open areas could be good. How big were they?
He was in no real rush, however, to get to any certain place. He had plans for later on, but travel was made easy for him with his charizard and the transport she provided him. The fire pokémon was tucked away inside her belt for that visit though, and Red walked through the location accompanied by two other pokemon - Pikachu and Espeon.
Espeon took a lead as she usually did, with Pikachu perched on his shoulder with a curious eye at all that could be seen. They may have looked casual, but they were two of Red's most aware pokémon of their surroundings and what was nearby. A pokémon who felt change and could predict the future and a pokémon who kept alert to sounds.
And there would be some certain figures for them to notice on this day out. Now- where might they be?

"I get that- I had my friend Leaf with me when I started off my travels. Not the same, but." He shrugs, and then with a wave of his hand adds, "Oh yeah, but it's not the same Leaf that's here if you know her. Different girl. Kinda like with me and the other Red."
He continues, "But she helped me out a lot. I haven't seen her in years... but I guess the sooner we can get back, the sooner we can see them again. A war's probably an important thing to get back to, too."

They eventually reach town and Pichu makes a happy sound. Enzan makes a small gesture with his hand, "Here we are."
no subject
"Do you live here too?"
no subject
Pichu begins waving her arms ecstatically and starts telling Pikachu about the town. Dratini and Eevee both shake their heads fondly at how excitable she always was.
no subject
"Is it anything like Ransei?" The question is half-serious, all light-hearted, though Red thinks it might open up to possibly asking more about where Enzan comes from, a subject that seems easy and casual for speaking about while walking (and not as heavy as war, especially after working for how ever long).

He waves a hand, looking up as he thinks, "You said you were a lord of a place there. What did you call it? Roara...?"
no subject
"Taking care of" being the nicer way of saying he challenged the previous leaders for control and won, thereby forcing them to leave.

And his luck was so bad that he ended up having to fight to protect it on his first day.
"Aurora is a beautiful place. The weather is nice most of the year and many Normal-Type Pokemon make their homes there."
no subject
"What sort? Like, the pokémon- what normal-type do you usually see around there?"
no subject
There were also Woopers too.
no subject
"I only know what one of those are, the Meowth. But Starly, Minccino- Audinos? Can you tell me about them? What are they like?"
no subject
Enzan then goes into short descriptions of the Pokemon Red was asking about. Even going to some of his own experiences with them, even mentioning another warrior, Muneshige, and his Starly who he had fought against.
no subject
"The Starly sound like Spearow- normal flying types," he goes on into explanations himself afterwards. "Have you got them? They're popular in Kanto, them and Pidgey, especially where I come from." He grins, looking away for a moment with a laugh in his voice, "I remember when I got a Pidgey and I saw my friend again, he had one and he accused me of copying him- like I knew what he had. But that's Green for you."

And off he goes with descriptions. He shares the differences between them, Fearow's more distinctly-shaped beak and a Pidgeot's impressive crest that sweeps down from its forehead, and then speaks about their differences as bird types.
It's somewhere through this that an idea crosses his face, and he reaches to his back pocket. "How about I show you?"
When he turns back, a pokédex is in his hands. He flips it open and starts to click down through it. If Enzan's looking, he can maybe see images of pokémon flicker on the screen.
no subject
This machine was unlike any other he had seen before and it had images and descriptions of Pokemon in it. Like the scrolls and books they had, only not in those forms.
'Lord Motonari would've loved to see this,' he thinks to himself.
no subject
It's a serious question. There were the talks of warlords and kingdoms, but there was something also old-fashioned about Enzan's person, too. Red didn't think about it entirely seriously; Avalar was weird, everybody was going to come from a weird situation.
...And maybe pokédexs were still a new or unknown technology for some, and Ransei sounded like it was far away. They had only been made a few years ago, hadn't they?
Along with the question though, it doesn't take long at all for a Pidgey to show up on the screen, and Red holds it out more for Enzan to see. "Here, this is Pidgey."
no subject
"No, I haven't seen a piece of machinery like this. Not even in Violight."
They had blimps and generators, but not anything like this small codex that Red was showing him.
no subject
"Do you want t'look through it?-- maybe when we're sitting down, I mean. It's got a full list on the pokémon in Kanto, so there's a lot there. I was supposed to do the same for Johto, but I got distracted," he admits with a laugh in his voice.
no subject
Dratini then comes back over to them and trills up at Enzan. The warlord's attention is fully on the Dragon-Type who nudges his head towards the food stands.
"Oh! You're right, thank you for reminding me Dratini," he turns back to Red, "I'll be right back."

He walks over the the stands and starts asking if the stuff he needs is in stock. While he does this, Eevee asks Espeon what is was like to evolve.
no subject
Espeon considers the question presented to her, pondering it as her tail sweeps slowly against the ground. And then she answers- for her, it was a state of mind. She decided that Red would keep by her side, and she would ensure that.
Pikachu intervenes, but waits to do so after she's spoken. He tells Eevee that you don't need to evolve to be strong and loyal to your trainer. He knows an Eevee too that's strong, and she loves her trainer a lot, just as much as they love Red.
